Love Maine Trails Month
Saturday, June 1st - Sunday, June 30th, 2024
The third annual Love Maine Trails Month will be taking place from Saturday, June 1st through Sunday, June 30th, 2024 at locations across Maine.
Love Maine Trails Month (LMTM) is a month of statewide events bringing people and organizations together to care for Maine’s trails. LMTM brings visibility to the substantial resources and effort required to maintain Maine’s beloved trails.
When we show up for trails, we are sending a message that we value trails.\
The Maine Trails Coalition will be collecting the total volunteer and paid hours that go into LMTM trail work projects. 5 LMTM event hosts who submit a post-event form will be entered to win a $1,000 LMTM Award.
Data and stories collected will help MTC share the importance of statewide trail stewardship efforts and emphasize the need for adequate support & funding for trails. LMTM is made possible thanks to hosts, volunteers, the MTC Stewardship Work Group, and partners like Maine Trail Finder.

If you are planning to get out on the trails this year, make a plan to add in a day or two of service. If everyone was able to volunteer even one day, imagine the difference we could make!
Love Maine Trails Month is an excellent opportunity to get your feet wet (this may actually happen) and get involved with a trail maintaining group! No prior trail work experience is needed for most LMTM events, just a willingness to learn, have fun, and give back to Maine’s trails.

Host an Event
Information on how to host a 2024 Love Maine Trails Month (LMTM) event can be found on the Host Information page on Maine Trail Finder. New this year: we are developing a Host Toolkit for past and future LMTM hosts.
$1,000 will be awarded to 5 groups who host an event and submit a Post-Event Form by Friday, August 2nd. Drawing will be random.
We encourage hosts to submit their event by mid-April so we can plan outreach around statewide events.
For groups that don’t want to host, we still would like to receive data about stewardship projects performed during LMTM. You’ll be put into the running for $1,000 if you submit the Post-Event Form by the deadline.
